Submission Process
Maurer Press welcomes proposals for monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, and journal publications across a wide range of academic disciplines. Authors interested in publishing with Maurer Press are encouraged to contact the relevant book series editor, volume editor, or a member of the editorial board. If you are unsure which publication series best suits your project, you may contact the general editors, who will be pleased to guide you through the submission and publication process. Initial proposals typically include a title, abstract, table of contents, and a brief author biography. Following a preliminary editorial assessment, authors will receive further information regarding manuscript preparation, timelines, and the review process.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Academic publications at Maurer Press are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest scholarly standards. In this procedure, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent experts in the relevant field, who assess the originality of the research, the methodological approach, the engagement with existing scholarship, and the overall contribution to the discipline. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, manuscripts may be accepted, accepted subject to revisions, or declined. The final publication decision is made by the editors in consultation with the publisher.
Open Access Policy
Maurer Press is committed to promoting the widest possible dissemination of academic research. Many of our publications are made available through open access models, allowing readers worldwide to access scholarly content without subscription barriers. Open access publications increase the visibility, accessibility, and impact of research while supporting the principles of academic exchange and knowledge sharing. Specific open access arrangements, licensing terms, and any associated publication charges, where applicable, will be communicated to authors during the publication process.
Copyright and Permissions
Authors retain responsibility for ensuring that all submitted material complies with applicable copyright laws. Any third-party content, including images, illustrations, figures, tables, and extensive textual excerpts, must be accompanied by the necessary permissions obtained from the respective copyright holders. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations and references and for ensuring that their work does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. Copyright and licensing arrangements for accepted publications will be specified in the publication agreement concluded between the author and Maurer Press. The use of copyrighted materials without appropriate permission may result in delays or the withdrawal of a manuscript from the publication process.
